1. I have blisters on my fingers, not because someone handed me a cheeseburger, but because I just turned over soil for three rows of corn and beans and weeded a row of potatoes.

2. Sometimes I put my ear towards the moon and try to hear the ocean.

3. For me, a simple pen is like the invention of the wheel, making my hand a vehicle for my mind.

4. “You don’t really choose.  You just go where the smoke is.”  ~ Leonard Cohen on songwritingbrb2d

5. I’ve never thought I was Cleopatra or Joan of Arc in a past life, but I have thought I share an enneagram number with Albert Einstein and a Myers Briggs type with Carl Jung.

6. I love THIS.  It brings new meaning to phrase “dancing in the light.”

7. As much as I love that, I love THIS even better.

8. I’ve always called myself a pessimistic optimist. I recently saw the word “apocoloptomist” on Facebook, described as someone who knows the world is going to hell but still thinks it will turn out ok.

9. When Joe recently told me that he was going to play golf, I said, “You dog!” He looked dejected until I added, “No, I don’t mean you’re in the doghouse, I mean you lucky dog! Go for it!”  ~ From a 2006 13 Thursday post.

10. I think it’s fitting that the word golf spells flog (to beat with a stick) backwards.

11. Acupuncture, carrot cake, putt putt golf and ballroom dancing, all against the backdrop of garden dirt-lined fingers tapping at the keyboard, a browser that kept wanting to crash, a black snake in the chicken coop and a mystery culprit that kept emptying the birdfeeder of every last drop of seed. I really don’t know how to explain my birthday … More HERE.

12. Vanity license plate seen today PAWSIBL.

13. My grandson Bryce (6) and Liam’s (3) dramatic play with action figures is often based on video games. There are challenges and obstacles to overcome, as well as levels to master.  Sometime Bryce makes the games start in slow motion and explains to me that they downloading. Today, while reading Liam a story, he got up in the middle of it to get a snack and said to me, “Pause your mouth, Nana.”
