13: From Blah to Ooh La La
1. Flowers in pots? Pot holes that is: Check out THIS Guerrilla Mosaic artist’s work.
2. I wonder if our new Rhode Island Red chicks will have a New England accented chirp and why THESE chickens are pink.
3. A line that made me laugh during the Floyd Community Theatre Guild’s performance of The Importance of Being Ernest this weekend: To lose one parent, Mr. Worthing, can be regarded as a misfortune. To lose both seems like carelessness.
4. Considering Oscar Wilde’s “philosophy of pleasure” and the scandals in his life, maybe his surname is an aptronym, like the poet William Wordsworth.
5. Cats are always cool and dogs can be too, but only if you spell them “dawgs.”
6. Tic Tack Toe Shadow Shot HERE.
7. And Literary Bug, Cliffhanger, Page Turner and Free Verser HERE.
8. If xo stands for a kiss and hug then xoxoxoxo must be a make-out session.
9. I love the way Earnest had a double meaning in Wilde’s play. The main character was an Earnest (another aptronym?) who had to learn the lesson of what happens when you’re not sincere.
10. Recently found country names to add to my growing list: Men – Estole, Masten, Ebb, Macle. Women – Ocie, Gerlene, Loveline, Mellie.
11. The daffodils were baffled / by the mourning dove’s weeping / And wagging dogwoods barking / kept the peepers from sleeping – More from my 30 year old always changing poem, The Zing of Spring HERE.
12. I’m a fool who loves fooling but can’t keep a straight face while doing it. I prefer to be the fooler rather than the foolee, but I feel a certain pressure trying to come up with some foolproof foolery when mass foolishness is scheduled on one particular day of the year. – More from a 2006 post on April Fool’s Day HERE.
13. ‘Not Even LSD Prepared Me for Ted Cruz.’ – Comedian Lewis Black

Love the quote from “The Importance of Being Earnest” — yet another classic I’ve wanted to read for a while now. The flower mosaics were pretty cool, but seem like a lot of work for something likely to be filled in. My T13

Re # 12: I’ve said some the most outrageous things & gotten over on some of the least gullible people just on the strength of my poker face.

Regarding the aptronyms, in Roanoke there is an OB_GYN named Dr. Clapp and a urologist named Dr. Whizznat. No fooling!
