13: How Now?
1. The only thing the Harvest Moon Cow needs now to be even more ready for summer is a bikini.
2. THIS couple that was made famous for being on the cover of the Woodstock album is still together.
3. In 1969 I was wearing a black floppy hat while riding the subway from Boston when a little boy pointed at me and asked his mother, “Is that a hippie?” – More from Hippie Flashback HERE.
4. I often think of us as parasites on the earth’s body that she will eventually shake off like a bad case of fleas.
5. Watch David Letterman rail against fracking HERE.
6. In his final Late Night monologue Letterman joked, “It’s beginning to look like I’m not going to get the Tonight Show. A New York Times writer summed up Letterman’s long run (33 years) by saying, “His rival got the “Tonight Show” gig and higher ratings, but in the end, Mr. Letterman won the legacy.” Watch Letterman’s final monologue HERE.
7. My favorite new Scrabble dictionary words are bumbaze and hacktivist. Cakehole is unfortunate and ridic for ridiculous is as bad as wuz for was.
8. THIS is what happens when you play Scrabble with a four-year-old.
9. Lately I feel like I’m reliving my teenage years. I like to babysit and go out dancing on the weekends.
10. Some People Come to Floyd to Watch the Hippies Dance HERE.
11. Sometimes I get nostalgic for my pink suede bell bottom pants / and the maroon Indian print bag with the mirrors on it / or the gypsy scarf that I wore as a shawl and sold at a yard sale in Texas / because we had to stuff everything we owned into one U-haul trailer / when we moved to Virginia in 1985 … More of Pink Suede Pants and a Nehru Jacket with an American Flag Sewn on it HERE.
10. Floyd has appeared in a number of locally written songs. THIS one is my latest favorite.
13. Amazon is the new Sears catalogue.

In ’69 I was taking care of my one year old baby girl with bell bottoms and on and a wish in my heart, that I could go to Woodstock.

What a cute cow! And, so sad that Letterman is gone. I know he will be missed by tons of people. I am a scrabble lover, too. No one to play with so I play Word on facebook. Boy, some of the words my competitors play are crazy.

Love the cow! I would like that cow at the end of my driveway. I was too young to be a hippy (I was 6 years old in 1969) and have always wished I could have been.
