13: Something to Swing About
1. Favorite REM line and the story of my life: Oh no, I’ve said too much. Followed by: I haven’t said enough.
2. So I had a couple of curlers on the top of my head while getting ready to go out dancing when Joe came in and looked at me and I joked, “I’m trying to get it to look like the Weekend’s.”
3. Shouldn’t the word reverberate actually be vibrate?
4. I always get the feeling when Bernie Sanders is talking that he’s conducting an orchestra.
5. Middle of the road? I start notebooks simultaneously in the front and the back and continue to take notes until the writing meets in the middle.
6. Glitz and Blitz are related in more ways than rhyme.
7. Insightful or Inciteful?
8. Poems come like dreams and both get my attention. They’re alike because they both tell me a lot about my psyche in a condensed way. They both tell the truth, and it’s not always pretty.
9. Every time I get that someone “reacted to” something I posted on Facebook, I think I’m in trouble. Even though they clicked on a heart icon that means to say they “love,” the message I get is that they “reacted.” It’s kind of a mixed message, like when someone has their right blinkers on but starts turning left.
10. And why do pens other than yellow even try to be highlighters?
11. On this St. Patrick’s Day I’m thinking about when I was home in Massachusetts in November and Joe and I pushed my mom’s wheelchair around her nursing home singing Oh, Danny Boy to her while thinking about my brother Danny.
12. “If we get elected we’re going to invest a lot in mental health and when you watch these Republican debates you know why!” Bernie Sanders
13. Bryce to Liam: Liam, did you know that oil is robot blood? See HERE.
______Thirteen Thursday / Sorry about the recent brief disruption of my blog and thanks to Afraid of the Dark for THIS shout out.

Another great TT! I wouldn’t want you to wear your hair that way. #2 I thought it must of been heavy on his head.

#2, #4, #12…:D
Bernie’s fingers remind me of my beloved 88 year old grandfather’s except Bernie moves his fingers a lot more than Grandpa, and Bernie’s are so limber they seem loose, somehow. 🙂 He has a fun sense of humor when he shares it.

I just realized the comment above is misleading. I am old – Grandpa died many years ago. My father was Grandpa’s age when he died recently.

13 I see he has your wisdom

But vibrate just means it’s shaking. Reverberate means it’s shaking because something like a deep sound has set up sympathetic vibrations. Reverberate is a much more emotional word.

so glad to see you up and rolling again, colleen. and yeah, reverberate is a kind of twannnngggg thing, like shouting under a cement bridge =)
March 17th, 2016 4:16 pm
It wasn’t a serious question, more an observation about how close the two words are and how reverberate is like re-vibrate and they both vibrate but re-verberate “seems” to vibrate and vibrate really does. Don’t forget I’m the one who thinks slight could be a mutant plural of light and smother of (too much) mother and that silent and listen are the same word with the letters mixed around.

love number five!

Great T13, CR. I’m sooooooo glad you’re back. Imagine my chagrin during your brief absence!

I hadn’t heard or read #12 before… how absolutely funny and true. (I didn’t think Bernie had that much of a sense of humor).
March 19th, 2016 5:57 pm
lol colleen, the anagram maven. Im as bad. And you’re right, there are too many “smothers” out there–hey we may have just invented a new meaning for smother. sorta says it all. My favorite mix is untie and unite…
March 19th, 2016 6:21 pm
Before Joe and I married we had a yearly ceremony we called “United Untied!”
