13 Ripples
1. My grandson Liam (7) set up his own business when we recently visited his Uncle Josh’s Mobile Brick Factory in NC. He sold broken pieces of bricks for either a dollar or a bottle cap to throw into the nearby French Broad River. “Why would I want to buy one and then throw it away?” a woman asked him. “Because it’s fun,” Liam answered.
2. Liam doesn’t collect bottlecaps for himself but his brother Bryce does, so he collects them to sell to Bryce.
3. Liam: “I think Emily (his Uncle Josh’s fiancé) should be president because we never had woman president before.”
4. When Josh was little he was sharing some food with me and said, “Ladies first.” “What do you mean, ‘ladies first? That’s silly. Why do you think ladies should go first?” I asked him. “Because they live longer,” he said.
5. It’s never too late to put flowers on the table. – More on Emily’s Flower Farm HERE.
6. Photographer Spends Eternity Waiting for Museum Visitors to Match Artworks and The Result Is Worth the Wait. See HERE.
7. Everybody’s favorite Grateful Dead song: Ripple in still water / When there is no pebble tossed / Nor wind to blow / Reach out your hand if your cup be empty / If your cup is full may it be again / Let it be known there is a fountain / That was not made by the hands of men…
8. I had two sons 2 ½ years apart and then my son Dylan had two sons 2 ½ years apart. So, like a pattern that repeats, I’m reliving that favorite part of my life.
9. Second movies are like second teeth / We call second-round children grand / because they bring a second wind / to the lucid dream of life / Some of us will have second childhoods / Our car keys will be taken away / We’ll eat too much sugar / and walk around in one slipper… From Second Hand Chance HERE.
10. Is THIS for real?

12. You write your own vows / and recite them out loud / This isn’t your first poetry reading / You pick the best / but vary your playlist / You don’t show up / in the same dress twice … More from When You Love Your Poems HERE.

I read the Second Hand poem (as if it were my 1st time), and was about to comment on it when I realized I already had done so. Let me just say, here and now, that I agree with myself.

Everything should be fun. Life should be fun. I hope Liam keeps that attitude.

Liam is so cute! And it would be fun!
#6 is awesome and I kept looking at it and how much they look like the art work. I would love to do that too.
Heather has 2 boys and they are 2 1/2 years apart too! WILD!
I love those flower buys too and believe they are baby praying mantises.

Yes, they are baby orchard preying mantises. I was shocked at how many types there are. Look! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KI_DOkMJUbo&t=122s
