13: T-Rex Comes to Town
1. I wonder if our Floyd Christmas Parade T-Rex is related to THIS one?
2. I couldn’t get enough of T-Rex, so I followed him/her around, getting more shots than any other parade character or scene (400 shots but only 33 submitted to the paper). I watched it put a kid’s head in its mouth. It also danced.
3. I found myself studying its boots to see if they could help me identify who it was. At one point it came up close to me and jiggled around. I was a wimp and let out a scream.
4. I tried to tell the AEP power line guys who were clearing the lines and cutting trees in our yard last week that they needed to haul the logs out by Thursday because I had hundreds of people coming to my house over the weekend. I don’t think they believed me, but it was true. On Friday people filled up my porch and my kitchen-and-living-room-turned-pottery-gallery for the annual fall Studio Tour of 16 Hands, of which my son, Josh Copus, is a member. – More from Open for Fun and Business HERE.
5. We thanked the farmers and cooks and cleaned our plates like good pilgrims. We usually play Taboo after dinner, but this time we had a dance party. We earned our pie. -Read more from That’s the Way We Do Thanksgiving HERE.
6. Butterball moon / Dark or white / Simmered and served / Slice by slice
8. The title of my most recent Facebook photo album is: Christmas Parade in Grand (kid) Style: Parkway Grille, Parkour in the Park and Meeting a Parade Marching T-Rex.
9. So, Santa with his butt crack showing is now a thing. See HERE.
10. I know the Floyd Parade Santa and Mrs. Santa on a first name basis. I made the mistake of telling my 7-year-old grandson Liam when we were at the parade that I knew the Santa and that he was a friend of mine, which brought up a lot of questions. That’s Liam hiding from the T-rex while his 9-year-old brother Bryce and Hopa Joe encourage an introduction. The picture makes me want to say, “Bryce, watch your back.”
11. I call the shot below “The Album Cover.” Remember?
12. But where is Ringo? He had to take the picture.
13. I’m glad my husband Joe’s last name isn’t King, otherwise I’d be calling him “Joking.”

I saw a list of names recently & noted the inclusion of Abby Rhodes. I wondered if it was real or if someone was just having some fun.

I love the pictures. And the costume. What a cool way to rock a holiday parade.

I don’t blame Liam..think I might have hidden from TRex too. Back to follow links and read poems as soon as I get caught up with friends (in real life and virtually ) … now that we’re home in Florida for the (winter) season.
