Where the Wild Things are at Floydfest18
“Let the rumpus start” kept going through my head when the family arrived to FloydfestWILD on Saturday.
We made ourselves at home at the Oasis, the mid-field art installation, designed by Eric Davis as “an oasis in the middle of the wild” where wild things can go to relax.
We recognized other Wild Things there.
It takes one to know one.
Wild Things of all ages like to play in the Children’s Universe. We hung out there a lot.
Some sailed back over a year and in and out of weeks.
And swung from vines … I mean swing sets.
Only one of our Wild Things cleaned up here. The rest of us stayed dirty.
We cheered when Gypsy Geoff juggled, joked and the let the young ones be part of the act.
Last year Wild Thing Bryce was so taken by Bones the skeleton (look closely) that he started puppeteering.
This is how Wild Things do Floydfest right.
And this is how the wild unwind.
There’s always a lot to see at Floydfest.
Everything is done to a great soundtrack. Listen HERE.
The youngest Wild Things were in bed by the time Grammy winning Jason Isbell hit the main stage.
His heartfelt songwriting and natural stage style was a highlight that will stay with us forever.
Take a listen above or hear him do White Man’s World HERE. Floydfest Thursday is HERE. Floydfest Friday is HERE.

Enjoyed all the FloydFest posts, but family day looks like the most fun to me. Good times all the long weekend though; glad you had enough energy left to take pictures (and videos) as you worked and played!! You Floydians (?) know how to party!
