TheBucket List # I Didn’t Know I Had
It was a metro ride away from our Paris hotel and a highlight of our three days in Paris.
And by highlight, I mean a light show like I’ve never seen.
Gustav Klimt at the Atelier des Lumières was a digital immersion installation that I first learned about when someone posted a video of it on Facebook.
This well known Klimt, The Kiss, has hung in my house for over 4 decades and the flowers I’m standing in front of in the picture above this one shows how the French impressionists, like Claude Monet, influenced Klimt.
Klimt was Austrian.
“Is that the painting from Woman in Gold?” I asked Joe, which was a movie starring Helen Mirren as an elderly Jewish woman who attempts to reclaim family possessions that were seized by the Nazis. Among them is a famous portrait of Maria’s beloved Aunt Adele who sat for Klimt and is pictured in “Portrait of Adele Bloch-Bauer I. Klimt did a lot of portraits and paintings of mothers and babies.
Everything was set to music. There was even a bar in the back of the show that included a light show (worthy of a whole post if I can get to it as my computer is being wonky) and a mirror room that was fun to play in.
In Givenchy we immersed our feet in Monet’s Lily Pond. Here we soaked up the colors and shapes. Soon our feet will be immersed in the Mediterranean Sea on the coast of Italy. Ciao!
See our visit to Monet’s Garden HERE.

Great pics, Colleen. To take pictures in the galleries has been liberalized? That would be fun!
