13: Walk Your Talk
1. Now everybody wants a pair of crocs like Liam’s for Christmas this year.
2. These days “going out” means to the yard.
3. But sometimes it means rainbows, toasted marshmallows and a hare and tortoise race. See HERE.
4. I have a book on Hold at the library called Hold Still.
5. If you google “Packing a Suitcase for the Afterlife” on Amazon, you’ll get lots of luggage buying options and THIS, my poetry collection that was published by Finishing Line Press in 2018.
6. “First thing in the morning, before i remember who i am, that’s who i am.” -My dharmacratic poet friend Will
7. “Whatever of my memories hadn’t crumbled into dust must surely by now have been altered by the passage of time. I tend to agree with the theory that if you want to keep a memory pristine, you must not call upon it too often, for each time it is revisited, you alter it irrevocably, remembering not the original impression left by experience but the last time you recalled it.” -Sally Mann, memoir, Hold Still
8. “Yeah. I’m not trusting the man who put kids in cages to decide when it’s safe for my children to return to school.” – Facebook friend Bill
9. Used to be after every car accident someone would ask ‘were they wearing their seat belt?’ now after every virus-related death, it’s ‘were they wearing a mask?’
10. Trump wore a mask. Sadly, that’s news. -Rolling Stone headline
11. Don’t try THIS at home. Or THIS.
12. “Crocs was started in 2002, in Boulder, Colorado, to sell foam rubber boat shoes (they’re named after crocodiles, comfortable on land and in water). The first model produced by Crocs, the Beach, was unveiled in 2002 at the Fort Lauderdale Boat Show in Florida, and sold out the 200 pairs produced at that time. It has since sold 300 million pairs of shoes.” -Wikipedia
13. Eldering is a lot like adolescence. We’re sensitive and awkward. Our bodies are changing. We question who we are and sleep more. And crying is not something to dread. We cry when we are moved, whether by some joy or some sadness. Good love making can sometimes make us cry, or make us make frowning faces, as if we are in pain when we’re not. It’s about the deepness, being touched, a breaking down of defenses. I don’t buy the reports that being older is the best time of my life. It’s bittersweet, which can be an acquired taste… More from From Start to Finish HERE.

Yes, best short explanation I’ve seen.

Another great TT.
I have a pair of black crocs that I wear in garden. I think you do too! They still get your feet real dirty though due to the wholes. I think the shaving cream thing is foolish and wouldn’t try it outside either. The high heeled is crazy, although I have seen a Maryjane type, that I wanted to buy, but didn’t.

Rainbows. Crocs. Rainbow crocs.
I object to “eldering” as a verb. I also object to eldering, but I esp object to verbifying it.
Hang in there, CR. Looks like you guys got a handle on the whole Pandemic avoidance thing. stay well.

The rainbow Crocs are lovely. I am not minding the staying at home part of the pandemic in the least. At long last, being an introvert is a plus and not a minus. I would #45 with directions to his hotel, much less with the lives of anyone at all, anywhere, anytime. Imagine being in the military and having to call him your commander in chief.

that croc and shaving cream thing is ridiculous.
Now I have a couple pairs of crocs and they are very comfy… one should wear them in the yard, or at the beach, around water, but when you put on your high heel crocs and teeter to the disco is when you’ve lost it.

Amen to #8! As an educator, I have to admit that I’m terrified of what is going to happen when school is back in session. Luckily for me, I live in a state where the Governor has done the opposite of what Orange Mussolini wants.
Those tie dye crocks are the bomb! I need some.

I have some lined crocs which are very warm. I use them for shoveling snow in the winter.

High heel crocs, it was a matter of time. I wonder if anyone has written a song about wearing high heel crocs. I could use a new pair of crocs. I’m going to look for rainbow colored ones. That’s interesting thing Sally Mann said. It has me curious about her book now. Cheers, Colleen!
