13: What Are You UP To?
1. I call the below picture “the cap capture.”
2. I told my train conductor nephew David that he was a “trained train conductor” and he answered, “I’m getting my life on track.”
3. While at the Cascades Waterfall, my sisters and I found a button on the ground, which everyone in my family knows is a sign from our other sister Kathy who passed away in 2015 and who leaves us buttons in unlikely places. More from Sistahs! HERE.
4. Even though our hats different colors, we’re all on the same team.
5. They say you have to find your voice / like they ask ‘what do you want to be / when you grow up?’ / But you don’t know where to look / or know that you have the voice / you were born with… Read Voice in its entirety HERE.
6. Do you want the update or low-down?
7. So, I just got my ancestry.com results back (given to me as a gift) and there were no big surprises, BUT I was surprised to discover that I am half Irish (47%) seeing as how my dad is 50% of my genetic inheritance and he was 25% Swedish to 75% Irish. I am 8% Swedish and 5% Norwegian. We always thought we were mainly German on my mother’s side, but I came up only 2% Germanic Europe with 6% Sottish and 32% English and “Northwestern European.”
8. I suspect some of my siblings have more German heritage and maybe less Irish, especially the ones that resemble my mother and her side of the family because although our siblings’ DNA is more similar to us than anyone else, siblings can get different DNA test results, depending on what they inherit, because DNA isn’t passed down from generation to generation in a single block and everyone has unique DNA profile.
9. I looked up the surname of one of our family’s Irish lines from my grandfather’s mother and found this: Dinneen (Irish: Ó Duinnín for men, Ní Dhuinnín for women) is a surname of Irish origin. The family was famous for having supplied generations of court poets to their overlords in the ancient kingdom of Corcu Loígde.
10. Playing Boggle with my sisters: Do you have TIT? Yes, I have TWO. I have TOO too. No, I mean two as in boobs.
11. I am from A your Adorable / B you’re so Beautiful / God Bless Mommy and Daddy / Jimmy and Kathy / Colleen and Danny / Sherry and Johnny / Joey and Bobby and Trish / I am from the salt of the earth / One if by land, two if by sea / John F. Kennedy and Fenway Park / even when the Red Sox are losing … Read the rest of Where I’m From HERE.
12. So far I’ve written about myself as a broody hen HERE and a scarecrow HERE.

My DNA results were different from my brother’s. It so strange that it knows he’s my brother, but such different percentages, and me having something he didn’t. When it doesn’t agree with his research he throws out the DNA results! My dog looks more Border collie than his sister, so while that comes up for her, it’s less than his. Of course, they could have different fathers too. I wonder if I’d have liked having a sister or sisters? Different from two brothers for sure.

Check your DNA results occasionally, especially if you went through Ancestry. They update them and it will change every now and then.
