13: I Almost Got Ran Over by a Clown
1. On the new Beatles documentary Get Back: It’s been a strange experience watching them create songs they don’t know the lyrics to. We know the lyrics but can’t tell them.
2. I lost my train of thought or my thoughts went off track?
3. Writer’s block or time to walk a block?
4. The Library Where the ‘Books’ Are Human Beings – With branches in 80 countries, the Human Library allows you to borrow a person — a rugby player, a refugee, a sex worker — and ask them anything you want. A Danish journalist and activist started the Human Library 21 years ago when the Danish Roskilde music festival asked him to organize interactive encounters with strangers. “What if we invited some of the most unpopular people to tell us their story so we could understand them better and give them a chance to move out of the box we put them in?” he asked… “There is a great book hidden in all of us, and most of us would be bestsellers.” More HERE.

5. Yes, there were traffic jams with clowns. There were also horses and tractors stopping traffic and dancing in the street. Between the clowns and the fire engines, I thought somebody’s pants must be on fire. Even Santa ran our town’s one stoplight and he shouted “Merry Christmas” to the crowd as he did. See HERE.
6. When I’m bored, I want to be busy, and when I’m busy, I want to be bored.
7. When I’m overdone and reach a point where some people might decide to get drunk, I take a bath.
8. “Computers suck up time the way trees suck up rain-water. You sit down at your screen for a moment, and a hole opens up that eats twenty-two minutes of your life, giving you nothing in return — except maybe a little more knowledge of baby giraffes. But you didn’t really want to know about baby giraffes. Some part of our unconscious desperately needs to waste time. Sigmund Freud never discovered this compulsion, because it barely existed in 1906. The computer triggers this time-destroying impulse.” -Sparrow, The Sun Magazine
9. “Socialists dream of a more just and equitable future. Conservatives long for the traditional past. There is no political movement that endorses the present.” – Sparrow
10. “We held hands. It’s funny, even at the height of our friendship – as guys – you would never hold hands. It just wasn’t a Liverpool thing. But it was lovely.” – Paul on the last time he saw George before George died.
11. Falling asleep is like writing poetry. I don’t know how I do it.

Computers do suck up a tremendous amount of my time, anyway. I read everything, lots of newspapers and all, and the next thing I know it’s almost lunchtime and that’s all I’ve done.
