13: Right of Way

1. I gave myself an exercise to write a poem, then I pushed it up the hill.
2. “What wakes me at night / is the thought of everyone / and everyone’s trash / a gold rush / for fool’s gold / and a self-assured notion / that Wall Street is Eden / that we can blame a devil snake / while we crash nature’s bank / and burn our climate at both ends…” Read The World is Not a Promise in its entirety HERE.
3. NASA Successfully Launches Artemis on November 16, 2022….So my poem in Artemis Journal is on it’s way to the moon. See HERE.
4. My weekly Thirteen Thursday lists are a time capsule and go back as far as 2006.
5. Texting? I’m all thumbs and not in a good way.
6. Spam? Whether it’s meat or mail, no one likes it.
7. Climate change may be making the symptoms of headaches, dementia, multiple sclerosis (MS) and Parkinson’s disease worse, according to results of a new review. The effects are due to the impacts of temperature fluctuations, extreme weather events and airborne pollution… The Hill
8. THIS is what I want for Christmas.
9. The first time I saw a flock of turkeys, I heard them first. I was in the yard and heard a low loud flapping sound approaching. When I saw them, I was stunned. They looked prehistoric, like pterodactyls.
10. I Think it’s Thanksgiving, eight years ago HERE. What strange dinner conversation.
11. “I believe this is a window into a one giant consciousness of which we all are a part of. My last deep psychedelic journey, I received one word… And the word was: Existence. We always exist. Our atoms always exist. We are reformulated right now in the presence of a homo sapiens, a species. But our atoms were before us, our atoms will follow us. The fact that we all are part of this one giant molecular universe and our insights in psilocybin gives us a window into a greater understanding of consciousness beyond ourselves.” Paul Stamets, mycologist
12. “One must say Yes to life and embrace it whenever it is found — and it is found in terrible places; nevertheless, there it is. For nothing is fixed, forever and forever and forever, it is not fixed; the earth is always shifting, the light is always changing, the sea does not cease to grind down rock. Generations do not cease to be born, and we are responsible to them because we are the only witnesses they have.” James Baldwin

Whoot! Whoot! Whoot! That is so very awesome that a part of you will be on the moon!
Spam was a treat when I was young. The Husband likes it too, but his dad despised it so he hardly got to eat it. These days it’s a treat again with fried eggs and rice. lol

Actually, Jamestown was here before the Pilgrims, and the settlement on Roanoke Island before that, and Spaniards in Florida and in California, etc. etc. but I get the sentiment. It is cool that our poems are flying around the moon. I used to eat Spam when I was young, but I haven’t had any in years. I wonder if it still tastes the same. That Wonderland video was wild!

#6 made me smile! #7 is amazing. #8 I love to see turkeys walking through my yard. I always try to get good pictures of them, but they disappear so fast.
