13: Grenadine Dream
1. My grandson makes them and lets me name them. So far, we’ve done Liam’s Luau, Dragon Fruit Delight, Cherry Limeade and Grenadine Dream.
2. So many familiar smiling faces. So much dancing! I joked that my Saturday Floydstock wrist band was my Barbie wrist band, so pink! More HERE.
3. Barbie was born in 1959 / She was the first grown-up / that I saw naked / when I was a girl / who still played with dolls / that drank from milk bottles / and wet their diapers / After that shock / we learned the term / ‘anatomically correct’ / We looked down Ken’s pants / and saw that he wasn’t… Read Barbie’s Retirement in its entirety HERE.
4. Is a giant LOVE sign with crime tape on it an oxymoron?
5. “A university professor went to visit a famous Zen master. While the master quietly served tea, the professor talked about Zen. The master poured the visitor’s cup to the brim, and then kept pouring. The professor watched the overflowing cup until he could no longer restrain himself. “It’s full! No more will go in!” the professor blurted. “This is you,” the master replied. “How can I show you Zen unless you first empty your cup.”
6. Sparse or scarce?
7. “Collective neuroscience is a rapidly growing field of research. An early, consistent finding is that when people converse or share an experience, their brain waves synchronize. Neurons in corresponding locations of the different brains fire at the same time, creating matching patterns, like dancers moving together. The experience of “being on the same wavelength” as another person is real, and it is visible in the activity of the brain.” -Scientific American
8. “Brown-eyed women and red grenadine / The bottle was dusty but the liquor was clean / Sound of the thunder with the rain pouring down / And it looks like the old man’s getting on…” -Grateful Dead
9. So many people have been coming out. I’m coming out as dyscalculic and a bit autistic when I dance. I have to remind myself to make occasional eye contact, and I avoid dancing with others because I don’t know how to follow or follow steps. I can’t even do the Marcarena, but I like the song, so I do my own thing and dance along the line.
10. They really do like milkweed.
11. “The secret is not to take care of the butterflies, but to take care of the garden so the butterflies come to you. In the end, you will not find who you were looking for, but who was looking for you.”
Mario Quintana

Interesting about wavelengths! And my sister is fully stocked with milkweed for her butterfly friends. They eat a ton of it! And yes, crime scene tape on a love sign seems to qualify as oxymoron. Loved this post!

Yesterday’s super moon did the usual flooding over in Huntington Beach. When the tide is high, the part of the road that goes over the back bay ends up right on the water, and the ocean spills over into the gutters on the road. The ocean is rising.
I had no idea about wavelengths, but it makes sense if you think about it.

#7 is interesting in that apparently we knew it all along or we wouldn’t have the saying.
