13: The Two-Party Weekend

1. It was a two-party weekend, not to mention that the two-party weekend started with Dogtown dancing to C. C. Coates with friends.

2. Grateful or Greatful?

3. The first party was an annual gratitude party with a Grateful Dead theme hosted by my friend Margie who inherited a home and property from a man she was a caregiver for (she took this picture).
4. Slur or Blur?

5. The second was a going away party for my longtime blogger friend Fred First and his wife Ann.

6. Fred calls me his blog daughter. He got me started blogging back in 2005. His blog is called Fragments From Floyd but he’s writing at Substack now.

7. Two parties, two caprese salads made for the potlucks.
8. Search Party HERE.
9. Party’s Over HERE.
10. The Better Late Than Never Pot Party HERE.

11. Part of my appeal to Facebook for taking a couple of my Floydfest post down because they linked back here to my blog: “Is this a person or a bot? Are you pulling me over and taking me to court for a broken blinker while people nearby are driving drunk?”

12. Floydfest got a write-up in The Rolling Stone: “Since launching in 2002, FloydFest has evolved from a word-of-mouth independent music bash in Floyd County, Virginia, into one of the most anticipated musical weekends each summer in Southern Appalachia” – Garret K. Woodword, Rolling Stone
13. When the Drought is Over – Every poem is a case note / Every dream is sun for the soul / Every love is a lifeboat / Every choice has the brilliant / potential for gold.

Fred encouraged me to blog but Doug was my server. I usually put the TT up a day early. But I thought it was Wednesday!

That’s totally what FB is doing lately. It seems like social media is broken. Although, some of it, that might be a feature, and not a bug. I think that’s why I keep blogging.

You certainly sound like quite the social butterfly! I don’t bother with FB anymore. Like Liz, I blog!
