13: Nashville Skyline
1. I couldn’t help thinking of Bob Dylan and Johnny Cash singing Girl From the North Country on Dylan’s Nashville Skyline album when I saw the Nashville skyline for the first time.
2. License and registration, please.
3. Here’s Joe working hard at not being a nine-to-fiver.
4. Upon arriving in Nashville, we went to the Capitol to follow the story of the Republicans expelling three Democrats from Congress for protesting with citizens over the lack of gun safety laws. We missed the protests and nothing much was going on at the time, but we talked to some CNN reporters. This one is doing a news spot with Christiane Amanpour.
5. This is one of many downtown Party Wagons in front of the Ryman Auditorium where Floyd’s own Morgan Wade was playing that night. She was the reason we were in Nashville. Concert post is HERE.
6. Pistol Annie’s, taken in front on Miranda Lambert’s Casa Rosa bar.
7. Most country stars have a bar and almost every bar has a rooftop overlook.
8. And a singer by the front window to draw people in.
9. Nashville is like a cowboy’s New Orleans.
10. You bet your boots, it is.
11. Most of the homes around downtown Nashville had red ribbons displayed for the lives lost in the recent Nashville mass shooting. I couldn’t help but think while looking at all that red that it stood for the blood of innocents, or maybe the blood on the hands of right-wing congress members who won’t do anything to address mass shootings.
12. I had an accident, not in a VW bus, or by slipping on a banana peel, but on my electric bike, which because it’s heavy is tricky for a lightweight to get started and to get off without falling. But I got back on the horse. See the damage done at the end of this video HERE.
13. And sometimes the view is a water view. The largest waterfall in Burgess State Park looks like a wedding cake, which reminded me of my 2020 visit to the Virginia Cascades where I bride was doing a photo shoot HERE.

That was a strange fall as you hurt your nose like that. Hope it heals well.
I enjoyed this post. Never will be able to visit there, so going with you gave me a bit of an idea.
Thanks!
