13: Play It Again

1. “Most peculiar, Mama is my new answer for most everything.

2. I was on the phone with my son Josh and said to him, “These are strange days,” to which he answered, “Most peculiar, Mama.” It made my day and I’ve been saying it ever since.

3. I’m starting to need a flashlight to find my flashlight.

4. Speaking of music, ‘What Would You Think If I Sang out a Tune?’ at the local Pub Hub, aka Buffalo Mountain Brewery  HERE.

5. I would like to call this ‘Play it Again, Sam,” but his name is Bob.

6. I had a big dream Saturday night, and when I went to write it down in my dream journal I heard myself say ‘You’re going to need a bigger book.’

7. Let the billionaires share / what never was theirs / Let robots cure cancer / and climate change / But don’t let them claim / or plagiarize the artists / Don’t let poets become / the jukebox nostalgics  Read If Robots Wrote Poetry in its entirety HERE.

8. The word “jukebox” came into use in the United States beginning in 1940, apparently derived from the familiar usage “juke joint”, derived from the Gullah word juke, which means “bawdy”. Manufacturers of jukeboxes tried to avoid using the term, associated with unreputable places, for many years.

9. We put stars in poems / like we put tomahawks in museums / and put quarters in the juke box / and pinball machines / like we put fireflies in jars / and peanut butter with jelly / Because we remember / when we were children / and laid in the grass / watching clouds – Read Stars in its entirety HERE.

10. I’m told that things look worse before they look better.

11. Is life a death sentence?

12. Nobody Told Me They’d Be Days Like THIS.

13. I play it again every day, and sometimes I’m lucky.

Wow, that was lucky. Isn’t it great when your starter word leads you in the perfect direction?

I played Wordle for a long time but then stopped and haven’t gone back to it. I do think life is a death sentence. (And something happened to the Mr. Linky on the TT blog, I put it back up. I think Mr. Linky is going away and I don’t know what we will use then.)

Oh no, I think my blog will be going the same way. It’s an old theme and as big as a dinosaur.

I started playing Wordle in July and have been playing every day since. I’ve gotten about 8 in two tries, usually when I get 3 clues in the first word.
